Former Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-ping is hosting a banquet with over a hundred guests in his hometown of Luchu, and it has been confirmed that Mayor of Taichung Lu Hsiu-yan has been invited to attend. The event is seen as a strategic move as political figures like ex-President Ma Ying-jeou and business magnate Terry Gou have previously visited Wang. Mayor Lu’s visit is also speculated to be part of positioning for the upcoming Kuomintang party chairman election.
