Former Minister of Justice Chai Ching-Hsiang has announced that he will not pursue any public office positions in the future, including Chief Justice. Despite speculations that he might follow the nomination path for the Chief Justice position, Chai firmly stated that he has no intention to accept such a nomination and will stay away from public service, maintaining his decision to retire from the government system. Chai, who has garnered praise for his tenure as Director-General of the Investigation Bureau and Minister of Justice, is likely to continue his career outside the system after his earlier decision to not seek another public role.
