Former New Power Party (NPP) legislator Cheng Hsiu-ling penned a letter to the media, announcing her departure from NPP and criticizing Kuomintang and Taiwan People's Party legislators, including Huang Kuo-chang, for inflating themselves as emperors and deliberately obstructing the new government. In response, Huang Kuo-chang stated his respect for Cheng Hsiu-ling, emphasizing the importance of enhancing parliamentary oversight mechanisms to prevent the Legislative Yuan from becoming a mere executive department's legislative branch, ensuring proper democratic checks and balances.
