Antonio Conigliaro, an 86-year-old former captain of the Genovese crime family known as 'Tony Cakes,' was tragically decapitated by a truck while crossing a New York City street. The incident occurred on June 12 in Brooklyn, where Conigliaro, a former mafia member involved in criminal activities, was struck by a city Department of Transportation truck. The driver remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made. Conigliaro, who had a criminal history and was involved in the dessert business post-prison, was remembered by acquaintances as a kind and soft-spoken individual.
