Former Police Station Chief Sentenced to 9 Years and 10 Months for Taking Bribes to Protect Illegal Waste Dumping Operators

Former Cai Minghe, the former chief of the Chongguang Police Substation in the Jinshan Branch of the New Taipei City Police Bureau, was sentenced to 9 years and 10 months for accepting a bribe of 100,000 yuan from waste dumping operators and turning a blind eye to their illegal activities by the Taiwan High Court. Cai demanded 500 yuan per sand truck and a total of 200 trucks for waste dumping, totaling 100,000 yuan. Meanwhile, another police officer, Zhou, and several operators were arrested for various crimes related to illegal activities at KTV clubs and waste dumping violations.
