The former student association president with the surname Fang from National Chi Nan University was found guilty of embezzling over 680,000 membership fees. The Nantou District Court recently sentenced him to 6 months in prison for embezzlement, along with an 80,000 fine. He was also accused of false accusation and sentenced to 20 days of detention, with the option to appeal. Fang invested in claw machine stores and sports lottery, incurred losses, and falsely claimed the membership fees were stolen, which led to his expulsion from the university after the student association reported the incident. Despite returning the embezzled amount and publicly apologizing, the court did not grant him probation due to the lack of trust he instilled in the student body.
