Former world champion South African high jumper Jacques Freitag was found dead in a cemetery with multiple gunshot wounds after being missing for two weeks. The 42-year-old athlete, known for his successes in the U18 and U20 World Athletics Championships in 1999 and 2000, as well as holding the national high jump record, led a troubled life after retiring in 2013, battling addiction and homelessness.
