Facing the impact of declining birth rates, several schools are at risk of exiting, with the Ministry of Education recently announcing that four private universities, including Tatung University of Technology, Oriental University, Global University of Technology, and Mingdao University, will all exit by the end of this July, affecting nearly 900 students who will be transferred to 17 other schools to continue their studies. This decision comes as a result of both demographic changes and the transition of private schools, with a total of 458 staff members affected. The Ministry of Education is providing assistance for job transitions and encouraging other schools to hire the affected teachers.
