In the Baolin Tea Room food poisoning case that occurred in March this year, resulting in 6 deaths, the Ministry of Justice's Victim Protection Division, along with the Crime Victim Compensation Association, has assisted four of the deceased victims' families in applying for 'crime victim compensation', with each eligible to receive NT$1.8 million; two other victims' families will be assisted in the application process. The incident led to multiple hospitalizations and has been preliminarily attributed to bongkrekic acid. Investigations have been conducted, and individuals related to the tea room have been summoned by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for negligence leading to death under the Food Safety and Health Management Act and Criminal Code.
