In response to the far-right party 'National Rally's' success in recent European Parliament elections, around 250,000 people across France protested on June 15 against their rise. With National Rally leader Marine Le Pen expected to lead in the upcoming parliamentary elections, left-wing parties and unions formed a new alliance to combat them. The protests saw 25,000 people in Paris alone, advocating for equality and against the potential of a far-right government. Former President Francois Hollande also announced his return to politics to support the left-wing alliance and prevent far-right forces from taking power.
