The Kaohsiung City Investigation Bureau received intel in May from the Taipei Customs Administration that a shipment of French hair removal wax containers may be involved in drug smuggling. Upon X-ray inspection, they found about 8.24 kg of white powder hidden inside, which was later confirmed to be methamphetamine valued at over millions. With further investigation, a suspect and two accomplices were arrested in Kaohsiung on May 28, confiscating various weapons, drugs, and criminal tools. The case involved an international drug smuggling operation, and authorities are expanding the investigation to uncover more suspects and masterminds behind the scenes.
