The Immigration Service in Chiayi City holds regular family education and legal advocacy activities, inviting new immigrant friends to join various multicultural, health, consumer protection courses, like the recent DIY session on making Filipino-style cup coasters with tassels. Participants enjoyed crafting the coasters as a means of relaxation, learning about Filipino culture, the significance of the colors in the Philippine flag, and the process involved in creating these bohemian-style round coasters without using tools. Through these activities, the station aims to promote cultural diversity awareness and highlight important immigration-related information, such as visa extensions for foreign students graduating in Taiwan and the increased fine for overstaying visas starting March 1, 2024.
