Friend's Motorcycle Used in ATM Scam in Taipei and New Taipei, Arrested Suspect Also Involved in Drug Offenses

On June 10, 2024, at 11:56 PM, Taipei City's Nangang Police Precinct uncovered a scam where a suspect, riding a friend's motorcycle, withdrew $150,000 from ATMs near NanGang Station in Taipei. The suspect was apprehended within their jurisdiction with drugs and $142,000 in cash. The 33-year-old involved has been detained by using the motorcycle of a friend who was already in custody. The suspect was apprehended after days of police pursuit and was found with drugs and cash. Charges include fraud, money laundering prevention laws, and narcotics control laws.
