On June 23, 2024, at 3:55 a.m., the Miaoli police arrested a wanted criminal involved in a firearms case who had returned to his previous location where he was caught making modified firearms. He was found near the police station in a residence a few hundred meters away where he used a woodworking factory as a cover to modify firearms and produce explosives. When the police approached, he resisted arrest and even prepared to ignite the explosives, posing a serious threat.
