In Mitsai, Taiwan, on June 23, 2024, police arrested a wanted criminal for firearms offenses who had returned to the location where he was previously apprehended for illegal gun modifications. The fugitive had set up a wood factory near the police station as a cover to modify guns and make explosives. When the police arrived, he resisted arrest and attempted to ignite explosive devices, creating a dangerous situation. The police managed to subdue the criminal before any harm was done. The 45-year-old suspect, surnamed Zhou, had a history of firearm-related crimes and was sentenced to over seven years in prison for previous offenses.
