A fugitive surnamed Zheng fell to his death while trying to escape through a window when police from Xizhi Precinct in New Taipei City visited a rented room on Dongshi Street. Zheng was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead at 5:32 p.m. Investigators later found drugs and related items in the belongings of another man, Yang, who was present during the incident. Yang admitted to drug use with Zheng and another wanted man, Zhou, in the room before attempting to escape. Yang will be prosecuted for drug offenses, and Zhou remains at large. The case is still under investigation.
