An accident occurred at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant where a male subcontracted worker suddenly collapsed in the rest area, was rushed to the hospital, and later died. Despite TEPCO claiming the cause of death was unrelated to work, the man collapsed around noon while conducting routine water quality radiation level measurements near reactor No. 2 for about 10 minutes. The worker did not show any signs of radiation contamination during preliminary checks, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of his death. Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant ceased operations after the East Japan earthquake disaster, with reactors 1 to 4 decommissioned in April 2012 and reactors 5 to 6 in January 2014.
