In recent years, as the health awareness of the Taiwanese people has increased and the medical public health system has made efforts, more and more resources are needed, particularly in cancer screening. However, the funding pressure is increasing, emphasizing the importance of prevention over treatment. The main source of funding for cancer screening is declining tobacco donations, which actually reflect the effectiveness of screening and contribute to supporting cancer screening. It is crucial for the government to evaluate the impact of decreasing tobacco donations on cancer prevention and treatment funding and allocate budget annually to ensure sufficient funds for cancer screening and prevention work without being affected.
