Despite friends trying to intervene, the situation escalated, leading to the police being called. The girlfriend, in a fit of anger, slapped her boyfriend, threw a bottle at him, and was then retaliated against by him in public. When the police arrived, they were provoked by the group, leading to pepper spray being used and several individuals being detained.
