Nasdaq Falls 1%; Salesforce Shares Weigh on Tech

U.S. stocks closed lower as the Nasdaq dropped over 1%, with technology shares being led by a disappointing Salesforce forecast. The economy's slower growth in the first quarter and a rise in weekly jobless claims also impacted the market. Salesforce shares fell 19.7% after forecasting lower profits and revenue for the second quarter. The S&P 500 technology sector declined 2.5%, while the Dow Jones fell 0.86% and the S&P 500 ended down 0.60%. Dell Technologies saw a 12% post-close drop, and HP shares rose 17% in regular trading. Tesla gained 1.5% after news of its 'Full Self-Driving' software registration in China, while Best Buy shares surged 13.4% and Kohl's slumped 22.9% after cutting its annual forecasts.
