The annual Group of Seven (G7) summit began in southern Italy's Puglia, with the agenda covering the situations in the Middle East, Ukraine, and Indo-Pacific regions, as well as economic security issues. Japan will address China's military expansion and overcapacity concerns, while the US aims for unified action against China's overcapacity issues. The summit also focuses on preventing China from aiding Russia's aggression in Ukraine, with discussions on utilizing frozen Russian assets to assist Ukraine. Additionally, the US plans to sign a new security agreement with Ukraine, continuing to provide funds and weapons without deploying troops. Switzerland will host a peace summit post-G7 with G7 members but without Russia, and China declining to attend.
