On the morning of June 22, 2024, a gas explosion occurred at a traditional market on Minsheng Road in Daxi District, Taoyuan City. The accident resulted in a father and son surnamed Jian suffering burns to their hands and feet. The explosion was caused by a motorcycle accidentally pulling apart a gas pipe owned by a vendor, leading to the injuries of the father and son who were trying to turn off the gas. They were conscious and sent to Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital for treatment.
