Gas prices in the U.S. may decrease this summer, with the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline dropping to $3.53 on June 2nd, nearly 4% lower compared to the previous year. The easing trend in gas prices is expected to continue throughout most of the summer due to a cooling economy reducing demand for oil and gasoline. However, the start of hurricane season could potentially disrupt energy production and lead to an increase in gas prices.
