General Motors achieved a third-quarter profit of $3 billion, aided by a 10% revenue increase to $48.8 billion, despite facing a 2.2% decline in US sales and a $137 million loss in its Chinese joint venture. Improved sales to individual buyers helped offset the decline, while pretax profits in North America rose. The company remains optimistic about future performance and continues to focus on electric vehicle profitability, having sold 32,000 EVs in the quarter.
