German energy company Uniper announced that a tribunal in Stockholm has awarded it over 13 billion euros in damages for gas that Russia's Gazprom failed to supply since 2022. The tribunal also ruled that Uniper has the right to terminate long-term gas supply contracts with Gazprom Export. After the German government nationalized Uniper due to Russia's gas supply cuts in 2022, Uniper had to buy gas at higher prices. Although the ruling is final, Uniper expressed doubts on the actual payment of compensation.
