German man Ralf Klausnitzer went missing in late March in Taroko Tianxiang. His son visited Taroko for a prayer ceremony, hoping for his safe return, and had DNA samples collected by Hualien police for a database. Klausnitzer, a scholar in his 50s, disappeared after visiting Taroko National Park in March and has not been found despite search efforts in the area.
