German sensor manufacturer Hensoldt announced that the first German 'Pegasus' signal intelligence (SIGINT) electronic intelligence aircraft, built by Bombardier in Wichita, USA, has completed factory testing and will undergo ground tests before system installation by Hensoldt and other companies to provide Germany with new airborne electronic reconnaissance and monitoring capabilities. The aircraft, based on the Global 6000 business jet, will merge sensor systems from various companies to analyze radar and radio signals and offer Germany advanced monitoring abilities. The 'Pegasus' fleet is set to be fully operational by 2027.
