During his visit to China on June 22, 2024, German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, pointed out that China's support for Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war is the main reason for the deterioration of economic relations between Berlin and Beijing, emphasizing that Beijing's backing of Moscow will have economic consequences. Habeck expressed these views at the First High-Level Dialogue Cooperation Mechanism on Climate Change and Green Transformation between China and Germany in Beijing. He urged the EU to adopt a unified policy towards China and emphasized the importance of European unity, calling for an updated China strategy that looks towards the next 30 years.
