Ghana has reached a deal with creditors formalizing debt treatment plans agreed in January, allowing for the release of aid from the International Monetary Fund. The agreement will provide debt service relief during the IMF-supported program period, enabling resources to be directed towards critical areas like infrastructure, healthcare, and education. This restructuring of over $40 billion in obligations is a condition for a $3 billion IMF program, with the latest deal helping unlock a $360 million tranche and potentially stabilizing the currency.
