During the transportation of a giant Guan Yin stone statue to Yonghe Temple in Luodong Township, Yilan County, the statue fell and broke its head due to the snapping of ropes, potentially caused by using cheap materials. The temple explained that the statue, worth over 2 million NT dollars, will need to be reordered from the original manufacturer at an estimated cost of 1.7 million NT dollars, and discussions for compensation with the construction team are underway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident at the temple, which has a history of over 200 years.
