A 12-year-old girl with a peanut allergy and her family were removed from a SunExpress flight at Gatwick Airport after the captain refused to ask passengers not to eat nuts for her safety on the 3½ hour journey to Turkey. The family, now almost £5,000 out of pocket due to last-minute bookings with another airline, tried to inform the crew about the allergy but were met with indifference. The captain ultimately made the decision to remove them from the flight, sparking criticism and calls for the airline to reevaluate its policies regarding passengers with allergies.
