Glencore Plc has stated that its coal operations will not obstruct potential agreements with rival companies. CEO Gary Nagle highlighted that most investors overlap with those of its competitors, suggesting that if these shareholders support Glencore’s coal business, they would likely be open to a merger involving it. This declaration comes after previous discussions with Rio Tinto, where coal was considered a significant hurdle, but Glencore has since decided to retain the division.
