Global airlines, as projected by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), have increased their profit forecast for 2024 to $30.5 billion, close to a $1 trillion industry-wide revenue, due to a surge in air travel. Despite disruptions to global supply chains, such as fleet deliveries, the industry is bouncing back after a $140 billion loss in 2020. Passenger yields are on the rise, while cargo activity is expected to return to normal levels after booming during the pandemic.
