As the earth continues to heat up, various natural disasters leading to food losses may turn everyone into 'climate refugees'. Saudi Arabia has reported 1,301 pilgrims dead due to the extreme heat during the annual pilgrimage in Mecca, while Vietnam's coffee production decreased and prices surged due to the heatwave. In mainland China, severe conditions of 'northern droughts and southern floods' have damaged a large number of crops. Meanwhile, in Mexico, continuous heavy rain causing floods has made it difficult for fishermen to catch fish in the dried-up lakes. Forest fires have also been rampant in Greece and southeastern Turkey, exacerbated by strong winds, making disaster relief challenging.
