Stockholm International Peace Research Institute analyzes global conventional weapon imports and exports, changes in nuclear biological and chemical weapons quantities, and their interaction with geopolitical situations annually. The latest nuclear weapons annual report indicates that despite no significant changes in the nuclear bomb numbers of the US and Russia in 2023, the two nuclear powers still collectively account for over 90% of the global total. However, China and North Korea show a significant increase in their nuclear warheads, with China's rising from 410 to 500, a 22% increase, and North Korea's increasing from 30 to 50, a 67% rise. The report highlights the active development of missile and other nuclear weapons delivery tools by these countries, posing as essential indicators of regional security.
