The global race for quantum computers has intensified with technology giants like Google, IBM, and Microsoft, along with AI leader NVIDIA, joining the competition to accelerate quantum computing development. Academia Sinica in Taiwan has showcased the country's first superconducting quantum computer with self-developed quantum chips, while Foxconn has discreetly entered the arena with ion trap quantum computers. This pivot towards quantum computing is expected to revolutionize industries such as biotechnology, finance, autonomous driving, and artificial intelligence by solving computationally intensive problems that traditional and supercomputers struggle with.
