GlobalWafers Faces New Upsurge in Silicon Wafer

Reported 8 months ago

In a shareholders' meeting held on June 18, 2024, GlobalWafers Chairman Hsu Hsiu-lan expressed optimism for a V-shaped growth in 2025, attributing it to the continuous AI applications pushing up silicon wafer demand along with the recovery in demand from the smartphone, automotive, and industrial sectors. The company is expected to see significant growth in operations in the second half of 2024 and is poised to sign new long-term agreements in 2025. Despite delays due to a recent cyberattack incident, GlobalWafers anticipates a consistent upward trend throughout the year in the semiconductor industry cycle. Additionally, with the establishment of a state-of-the-art 12-inch semiconductor wafer plant in Italy, supported by government subsidies, the company aims to enhance its market share in Europe.
