GlobalWafers: Important Systems Unaffected After Cyber Attack, Resuming Shipments Tomorrow

Reported 8 months ago

GlobalWafers, a major silicon wafer manufacturer, announced that some of its information systems were hacked last week, but investigations confirmed that important data systems were not compromised. Although there were minor delays in some production and shipment operations at a few affected plants, most of them are set to resume shipments tomorrow. The cyber attack is said to have mostly targeted GlobalWafers' plants acquired from SunEdison, covering locations in the US, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Taiwan, influencing both 8-inch and 12-inch production capacity and shipments.
