Workers at the GM-LG Ultium Cells battery plant in Tennessee have voted overwhelmingly to approve their first union contract, which enhances working conditions, pay, and benefits. The agreement includes a one-time payment of $3,000, wage increases up to $35 per hour by 2027, and aims to ensure workplace safety and fair roles for employees. This comes as part of the United Auto Workers' initiative to strengthen union presence in the electric vehicle sector, following recognition of the union at this plant in 2024 after similar successes in Ohio.
