Golden Horse Best Actor Reveals Excessive Smoking Habit of '30 Cigarettes a Day' with Resurgence of Old Condition Causing Pain Recently

At the Taipei Film Festival, director Tsai Ming-liang's latest film 'Neither Here Nor There' was well-received during its premiere with lead actor Lee Kang-sheng. Lee, who suffers from cervical spondylosis, admitted to experiencing recurring pain recently and expressed his desire to cut down on smoking, having smoked up to 30 cigarettes a day at one point. The tobacco addiction was observed by Tsai who, while trying to advise Lee to quit, also ended up buying cigarettes for him. Looking ahead to the future, Tsai shared plans for the 11th installment of his 'Walker' series to be filmed in South Korea, expressing his hope to continue filming with Lee and explore new locations. Lee Kang-sheng, excited about future projects, expressed his interest in walking the Xuanzang Route in China. Amidst discussions on the film festival, the health risks of smoking were highlighted as well.
