According to ESPN's reliable reporter Adrian Wojnarowski, the Golden State Warriors have confirmed that they will not be renewing the contract of four-time champion shooter Klay Thompson. The team is discussing a sign-and-trade deal to assist Thompson in joining his desired new team. Thompson's five-year contract signed in 2019 expired on June 30th, and Wojnarowski stated that Thompson's days with the Warriors are over. Teams in the Western Conference, including the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers, are reportedly interested in Thompson. The Mavericks and Lakers may offer a mid-level exception of around $12.8 million and might use a sign-and-trade to bring in the star player.
