Goldman Sachs has increased its year-end target for the S&P 500 Index to 5,600 from 5,200, attributing the rise to strong earnings growth of major U.S. tech companies like Microsoft, Nvidia, Google, Amazon.com, and Meta Platforms. The brokerage expects real yields to remain steady by the year-end and anticipates a 15x P/E for the S&P 500 Index. The upcoming U.S. election poses a significant risk, with volatility typically increasing before the election and stabilizing thereafter. Evercore ISI also raised its year-end target to 6,000, citing potential growth from the AI sector.
