Google, along with BlackRock, announced on July 1, 2024, their investment in Taiwanese solar energy developer Ngexis Power (NGP) to build a 1GW solar power project. In addition, Google plans to procure up to 300MW of solar energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to support its data centers, Google Cloud, and office operations in Taiwan. This move is part of Google's decarbonization goal to transition to using carbon-free energy sources by 2030.
