Google is partnering with Foxconn to manufacture its Pixel smartphones in Tamil Nadu, India, according to sources. The production of the latest models will take place at Foxconn's existing facility in the state. This move comes as global manufacturers seek to diversify their supply chains away from China, with India being considered as an alternative. The investment in Tamil Nadu is distinct from a separate partnership between Dixon and Google for smartphone production in India. Google, Foxconn, and the Tamil Nadu government have not yet responded to requests for comment on this development.
