Government Plans to Increase Military and Public Sector Salaries Next Year, Urging Private Companies to Follow Suit

Reported about 1 year ago

The stable growth of the domestic economy in Taiwan has led to a significant upward revision of the economic growth rate forecast for 2024 to 3.94%. As a result, Prime Minister Su Tseng-chang has instructed that military and public sector salaries will be increased in 2025, with the details to be finalized by the end of July. The Prime Minister called on private companies to similarly share economic success with their employees. This marks the seventh salary adjustment for military and public sector employees since 2000, with the last increase in 2024 also being 4%. The government hopes this initiative will improve the overall labor environment and encourage private companies to raise wages.
