Government Proposes Reconsideration of Parliament Reform Bills; Opposition Blue Camp Members Express Rejection, Fu Kun-Chi: Will Cho Jung-Tai Be Willing to Take Responsibility and Step Down

The Executive Yuan has proposed reconsideration of certain articles of the 'Legislative Yuan Exercise of Powers Act' and 'Republic of China Criminal Code' that were passed in the legislature on May 28th. The Kuomintang caucus has expressed regret over the new Executive Yuan leader Cho Jung-Tai's disregard for the new parliament and public opinion, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary reform and stating their intention to combine the forces of parliament and society to reject this reconsideration. Fu Kun-Chi, the Kuomintang caucus convener, questioned whether Cho Jung-Tai would be willing to take political responsibility and step down if the reconsideration fails.
