In order to encourage consumers to trade in old electric scooters for new ones, the government has continued to offer subsidies. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has proposed an enhanced subsidy program for purchasing new electric scooters by trading in old ones, which has been sent to the Environmental Protection Administration for review and is set to be officially implemented in the second half of the year. This initiative targets residents in regions such as Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan, Kaohsiung-Pingtung, with benefits including 4000 NT dollars for acquiring new electric scooters and reducing carbon emissions, and approximately 10,000 units are expected to be covered. The program incentivizes citizens to replace old vehicles with electric scooters, aiming to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
