Graffiti has become a common sight around Kaohsiung Train Station, with some even containing explicit language, leading to public outcry over the damage to the city's image. Residents expressed their dissatisfaction, calling for stronger enforcement to prevent Kaohsiung from becoming a 'decayed city.' The Environmental Protection Bureau of Kaohsiung has already handled three cases of illegal graffiti this year, with fines totaling NT$12,000. While graffiti is considered a form of artistic expression, unauthorized graffiti is illegal in Taiwan and subject to penalties. Residents are urging authorities to crack down on graffiti artists to preserve the beauty of the city streets.
