The granddaughter of the late General Hu Lian, Hu Minzhen, carried the ashes of the elderly veteran He Qin'an back to their hometown via the Kinmen-Mainland China ferry. He Qin'an, who followed General Hu to Taiwan 38 years ago, passed away without being able to reunite with his family in Fujian, prompting his descendants to contact General Hu's granddaughter for assistance. After a journey from Taipei to Kinmen, Hu Minzhen tearfully brought He Qin'an's ashes back, symbolizing a long-awaited reunion and fulfilling a promise to return their fallen ancestor back home.
