The parliamentary reform proposal has sparked a confrontation between the government and the opposition. Although the Legislative Yuan has passed the three readings, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has initiated a campaign to promote anti-abuse of power and protect democracy. In response, Kuomintang councilor You Shuhui criticized the DPP, stating that their opposition to the empowerment of the parliament is because they desire empowerment themselves and resist supervision. The DPP's push for parliamentary reform, according to You Shuhui, is to break free from constraints and use power and money as they please, even causing chaos to avoid oversight and engage in actions like expanding parliament powers, opposing China, and seeking to undermine Taiwan.
